Rich Schefren was live on Ustream last Wednesday from 12pm EST through the same time following day. He consistently delivered valuable content the entire time and answered every question thrown at him. Were the responses in great detail? Not usually, but the tidbits given were at least actionable and would put those asking questions in a specific direction.

In regards to the report, The Uncertainty Syndrome, it’s WELL WORTH IT. Get it. Now.

If you’re at all familiar with Rich’s teaching, it’s not going to be uber-ground-breaking, but his new diagrams bring new understanding to problems we face on a day-to-day basis.

If you’re stuck on a project, or it just isn’t moving forward as fast as you hoped, The Uncertainty Syndrome is what you need to read AT LEAST 3 times before starting another book or getting involved with another course or program. And hey, it’s free.

The book is literally brand new. It seemed on the basis that the boys are giving a portion of their earnings to the Marines, and that they have the guts and desire to be entrepreneurs at such a young age, Rush gave what would amount to a $32,000 commercial.

The results have been a fun thing to watch (behold?). Since the mention on Rush’s show last Friday, the book has received 64 reviews and has an Amazon sales rank of #5.

I’m not one to hound people for testimonials because it’s far more satisfying to just see them arrive in the inbox. Eventually I’ll put together a formal “what people are saying” page, but for now I’m going to integrate recommendations for my services with those who just employed them.

During late June I began a new series of cold calls and cold emails to potential clients for my advanced marketing consultation services.

What I’ve basically put together is a catalog of proven, guaranteed marketing campaigns that serve as templates for any client in any industry. The reason this works so well is that good marketing is universal. Human psychology is cookie-cutter, and so are the triggers that cause us to act.

I have campaigns for direct mail and e-mail. Direct mail has proven to be more successful almost every time, but email is cheaper to start. What I usually recommend to clients, if they can afford it, is to go the direct mail route first, and then do a customized email campaign for people who buy from the direct mail piece.

If a client is hesitant or not in a financial situation to jump into direct mail, an e-mail campaign will get them a taste of what can happen, and some profit to use for another campaign.

Of course I do my best to target companies that are of a good size, yet easy to do business with. My typical lead search begins with magazines, trade show publications and industry web sites. If people are paying for advertising in these areas, they’re far more likely to consider marketing consultation services.

I started a new relationship by contacting a woman entrepreneur running an Internet-based business. She sells physical products. I found out about her by browsing magazines at Borders and her ad caught my eye.

After emailing her about the potential to grow her business, we eventually got to a point where a quick e-mail campaign made sense.

She plugged the emails into her auto-responder program and in less than a week, literally made the same amount as usually takes a month.

This past weekend, a message arrived in my inbox:

“Nathan, I have to say that you are the FIRST person that has told me they could grow my business and I have really seen results. I’m very pleased and am excited to work with you again on the next project.

Warm Regards,

Michelle”

“There is a great difference between one idler and another idler. There is someone who is an idler out of laziness and lack of character, owing to the baseness of his nature. If you like, you may take me for one of those. Then there is the other kind of idler, the idler despite himself, who is inwardly consumed by a great longing for action who does nothing because his hands are tied, because he is, so to speak, imprisoned somewhere, because he lacks what he needs to be productive, because disastrous circumstances have brought him forcibly to this end. Such a one does not always know what he can do, but he nevertheless instinctively feels, I am good for something! My existence is not without reason! I know that I could be a quite a different person! How can I be of use, how can I be of service? There is something inside me, but what can it be? He is quite another idler. If you like you may take me for one of those.”
